How Do Youtube Ads Work?

YouTube offers a number of ways to monetize your channel. These options include the popular Google Adsense program, YouTube Partner program, YouTube Shopping program, and YouTube Display program.

The primary difference between the programs is who pays what and under what conditions they pay. In short, Google Adsense is free, YouTube partner pays for your content, and the other two pay for views (and other conditions of monetization) that you make available.

If you want to get started and understand the basics of what it takes to monetize a YouTube channel, read the YouTube advertising guide.

Adwords for YouTube ads

Adwords for YouTube ads are a form of online display advertising. In other words, they are ads that are served on sites other than YouTube. In fact, the ads are served on many types of websites. When an advertiser is looking to run a YouTube advertisement campaign, he or she should choose the best YouTube Marketing Services provider in India.

For example, when you are on a search engine, your ad may be served alongside search results. Adwords ads are typically displayed by popular website providers, such as Google.com, eBay.com, and Facebook.com.

You create an account on a popular ad service. Then you enter your information. Your payment information is either provided through your bank or credit card or your phone bill.

Your payment information is then shared with Google or other web service provider. You then pay Google or another website provider a small amount to deliver your ads.

In recent years, Adwords has become a popular choice for monetizing YouTube channels, as it is a relatively simple and straightforward process.

Before you use the Google Adwords program, however, be sure you are comfortable with advertising.

Adsense

Adsense is Google's free online advertising program. The Google Adsense program provides an opportunity to earn advertising revenue from your videos, photos, or websites. You get paid when someone clicks on one of your ads. You earn 60% of the amount that a customer spends on products or services you refer to (e.g. products or services you recommend).

Adsense ads appear when someone visits a webpage and chooses an Adsense ad. You can display ads in over 30 different websites, including Google search, Yahoo, MSN, and eBay. The programs vary by location. For example, you can only appear in United States. You can choose to display banners, text links, and even flash advertisements.

How to get started

The easiest way to monetize YouTube is to use an online video hosting service, such as Yotube.com, that offers advertising or monetizing opportunities. For example, you may make money by advertising products on your video.

YouTube ads are the video content that run alongside, on top of, and embedded in YouTube videos.

The advertiser sets the target market they want to reach (gender, age, geography, etc.), and YouTube shows a range of ads that the advertiser may choose from, and a YouTube ad is displayed as appropriate for the target market.

The advertiser can also show ads to a specific audience through AdTargeting.

Google, YouTube’s parent company, offers three payment methods to advertisers:

Google AdSense. YouTube’s AdSense account allows users to earn money by earning revenue from their own content.

YouTube Partner Program. This is a program that allows content owners to monetize their videos through ads.

YouTube Direct. This program allows publishers to upload their video content, and be rewarded through advertising.

Before you can start YouTube advertising, you’ll need to apply for an AdSense or Partner account.

A successful YouTube advertiser uses several types of YouTube ads, and they’re categorized as one of the following:

Pre-Roll. Pre-roll ads run between 15 and 60 seconds after a user clicks on the ad. They are the most common type of YouTube ad.

Bumper. Bumper ads run at the top of a video when it first starts. They’re useful for getting the attention of a new user and for catching their attention when a video breaks.

Display. These are videos where the ad only appears on a desktop or laptop computer.

Video. An ad in this format does not appear on a desktop or laptop, but it can appear on mobiles and tablets.

App. These are ads that appear on your phone on top of other apps that you’re using.

When you’re running ads, keep your goals in mind. If your goal is to increase engagement, then your advertisement should offer interesting content, offer up helpful advice, or be useful to your audience. You can also track your advertising using the YouTube analytics tools.

YouTube is the third largest search engine, so getting your videos in front of users there should be enough traffic to your site to reap the rewards.
